Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have dominated teams like the Memphis Grizzlies and the NY Knicks, easily covering a spread of 6 against both. I can’t imagine Charlotte proves to be a tougher opponent than NY - especially with Miami having the home advantage. Take the Heat to cover, friends.

I imagine Bieber & Ohtani will keep things in check initially and pitch for as long as they can, but as soon as the relievers take over, I expect a scoring frenzy. WAS Capitals v DAL Stars: Goalie Logan Thompson (1.50 GAA) has been playing lights out for the Washington Capitals. On the other side, Jake Oettinger (2.98 GAA) is notoriously no slouch. I think wagering on a low-scoring affair might be one of the strongest plays on the NHL slate today. I’m on the Under to cash.

In addition, Ottawa has put 9 goals on the board in just their last 2 games. Take the Over to hit.

WAS Commanders v KC Chiefs: As much as I would love to see an upset here, it’s really tough for me to throw money behind a backup QB on the road. To boot, Kansas City is looking better and better every week, and tonight they’ll be at home. I have a feeling this game will very much be a blowout. I’m on the Chiefs to cover.

I have so many thoughts on today's games – but I'll narrow it down to two. The first? What on earth happened to Kirk Cousins and the Falcons? I know Cousins has been on the bench for a bit, but never in a million years did I think he'd be so rusty that Atlanta would get nearly blown out by a struggling Miami Dolphins. And, aside from Cousins not playing his best, the Falcons' defense was pretty much non-existent. I will say I'm thrilled that Pick of the Day made it out with a 'push'. 

Second, I can't believe the Cincinnati Bengals let the NY Jets make a comeback and WIN THEIR FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON?! I don't know who had a worse day: Kirk Cousins, Joe Flacco, or Survivor Pool participants everywhere 😂

Yesh. Alright let's walk it off, friends. I know this last couple of days haven't been the greatest, but let's finish October strong 👊🏽😉

Today's Pick of the Day is a Push, friends. I must say, I consider us lucky to have made it out of this one with our money back. For those curious, here's what we had:

-MIA Dolphins v ATL Falcons Over 44.0 (-110) 🟨

I can't believe how terribly the Falcons played – my god. I know Kirk Cousins has been on the bench for a bit, but never in a million years did I think he would play THAT BADLY AGAINST THE MIAMI DOLPHINS. I struggled to even type that sentence, ha ha! Atlanta's defense was also NON-EXISTENT (thankfully, tbh...)

Let's also talk about the last 1:30 of the game: Dolphins deciding to go for it on 4th down and not just kick a FG? Getting 1st down would've ended the game...but wtf? I laughed my ass off when Atlanta got the ball back – Vegas straight up called Miami and robbed us of those 3 points for the cash 😂

Why These Picks?

MIA Dolphins v ATL Falcons: This might sound crazy, but I think this has the potential to be one of the highest scoring games of the day. The Dolphins have cashed the Over in their last 6 straight outings, have allowed at least 25 points in their last 3 games, and have lost to all but one of their opponents so far this season. In short: Miami is a mess, friends. QB Tua Tagovailoa threw 3 (THREE!) interceptions last week – I expect the Falcons to have little to no issue putting points on the board here at home. That said, it’s looking like Kirk Cousins may get the start for Atlanta as Michael Penix Jr. is sidelined with a knee injury. Between Tua fighting to keep his job at this point and the Falcons offense being wildly capable at home (they’ve covered the spread in both of their last home games…) I expect this total to land somewhere in the 50s. Take the Over to cash and Atlanta to cover at home.

DAL Cowboys v DEN Broncos: I can honestly say that I don’t remember the last time I saw a low-scoring Cowboys game. With what is undoubtedly one of the worst defenses in the league, it should come as no surprise that Dallas’ last 4 straight games have seen at least 57 points. And while the Cowboys’ defense may be lacking, their offense is an undeniable powerhouse. I expect this game total to look a lot like Denver’s last game – each team with 30+ points on the board with the victor pulling off said win by just 1 or 2. I’m on the Over to hit, friends.

NY Jets v CIN Bengals: The Jets are missing some of their best pieces (Gardner, Wilson, Hall…), and Joe Flacco looks like he’s finally steering Cincinnati in a good direction. To boot, NY has been tragic even with their superstars in play – they have YET to win a game this season. I’m on the Bengals to cover at home.
