DEN Broncos v KC Chiefs: This game should be a blowout. Broncos defense plus a backup QB for the Chiefs? I'll be wildly disappointed if Denver doesn't come out of this encounter with a win by at least 2 TDs. Give me the visitors to cover here.

HOU Rockets v LA Lakers: This pick comes down to one thing, friends – and it’s that I don’t trust the Lakers defense. LA’s last 5 losses have all been by double digits, so if you think Houston grabs a win here, I’d take the incredibly reasonable spread of -2.5. I imagine it’s only so reasonable because the Rockets have lost 4 of their last 5 outings, but they’re still far and away the better squad. I'm on the visitors to cover.

Despite the Pistons having one of the league’s best defenses, Portland is far more capable at home than they are on the road, and they still somehow managed 116 points in Detroit back on Dec 5th. SF 49ers v IND Colts: 3 of the Colts’ last 4 games have seen totals of less than 46 – for the most part, their defense has been solid and it took a juggernaut offense like the Jacksonville Jaguars to push the game into the high 40s. Now under regular circumstances, I’d argue the Colts are a similar juggernaut, but QB Phillip Rivers is still warming up to being back on the field, and as a result, everyone is seeing the ball just a little bit less. My money’s on the Under, as well as on the 49ers to cover.
