Both games in this series so far have gone well into the double digits, and Detroit will be eager to avoid getting swept. That said, Seattle’s bats have been on fire this last couple games – I wouldn’t be surprised if they cashed this Over themselves. My money’s on yet another high-scoring affair.

ATL Braves v STL Cardinals: The Cardinals have a substantial advantage on the mound today with Sonny Gray (3.51 ERA) who pitches even better at home than he does on the road. On the other side, Atlanta has called up Daniel Davis, who has had 14 starts in Triple-A but will make just his second appearance for the Braves this season today. I expect the St. Louis offense to have the upper hand in this game – I say they bag at least 5 runs this evening.

Fedde has allowed 17 runs in his last 3 outings on 20 hits – this is a crazy statistic! As long as the Atlanta offense makes contact, we should have a high-scoring game. The Braves don’t have a pitcher listed at the time of writing, but to be frank it doesn’t matter. If Atlanta rolls with a bullpen game the way I suspect they might, this final score should land on the moon (lol). If not, there isn’t anyone on the Braves starting roster that I think will keep St. Louis off the board enough to make this a low scoring affair. Take the Over to cash.

WAS Nationals v MIL Brewers: I’m running this one back for plus money, friends. Milwaukee vs the Nationals bullpen? Bet. This pick requires little explanation in my opinion – give me the Brewers offense to run up a total.

PHI Phillies v SD Padres: Phillies starter Zack Wheeler is undoubtedly one of the best arms in MLB. 4 of Wheeler’s last 5 outings were victories, and all 4 wins were by at least 2 runs. I suppose the question I’m asking myself here isn’t “Do I think the Phillies will win by 2?” It’s, “Do I think the Phillies will win?” If the answer is yes, it only makes sense to wager they’ll cover the RL given Wheeler’s recent game history. To boot, Yu Darvish is still finding his rhythm after a return from the IL – I’m on Philly to cover the RL.
