Jan 4, 2026: Belle's Picks, Player Props & Parlays 🏈🏒

January 5, 2026

Today's Picks

-NE Patriots -13.5 (-110) | 0.5 Units

-MIA Dolphins v NE Patriots Over 45.0 (-110) | 0.25 Units

-DET Lions v CHI Bears Over 51.0 (-110) | 0.5 Units

-COL Avalanche ML (-130) | 0.25 Units

Why These Picks?

MIA Dolphins v NE Patriots: Happy Drake Maye Day, to those that celebrate! I won’t overthink this one, friends. The Dolphins are likely to be missing the only two players keeping their boat (life raft?) afloat this afternoon – Achane is listed as ‘doubtful’, and Waddle is listed as ‘questionable’. Meanwhile, the Patriots are playing to be the no.1 seed overall. Under regular circumstances, I’d doubt Miami’s ability to keep this game within two TDs on the road – but without De’Von Achane in the mix? New England should claim this victory by a landslide. Give me the Patriots to cover at home. In addition, I’ll toss a sprinkle on the Over to cash – no doubt the home team can do most of the heavy lifting by themselves here.

DET Lions v CHI Bears: The Bears have been putting an obscene number of points on the board over the last few weeks. Having scored at least 22 points in each of their last 3 outings, I don’t doubt a high-scoring affair here. On the other side, the Lions have cashed the Over in 5 of their last 6 games; this total should easily find its way North of 51.0. I’m on the Over to cash.

COL Avalanche v FLA Panthers: I don’t care that the Avalanche are on a back-to-back, and I certainly don’t care that the Panthers are playing at home. Colorado has won their last 10 straight games, and Florida has been looking rough on the ice. The Panthers have been taking losses to far lesser teams, and while I don’t love a -130 return, it’s a nice price for the Avs to put an outright win in the bag. I’m on the visitors tonight.

Jan 3, 2026: Post-Game Recap (+ Nightcap) 🥃😌

January 5, 2026

Seen above: Me, taking stock after a rough betting day.

Sheesh! This was a rough one, friends. While this email is a “post-game recap,” the nightcap portion feels equally important after a betting day like this 🥃😂

Thankfully, we had a strong start to the first couple days of January — because picks went a dreaded 0/4 tonight. A rarity, but still a tough pill to swallow. If you’re new here, I apologize for the rough introduction 😅 Just know: we’re better than this day!

No matter how long I do this, losing days never get easier. But tomorrow, we’ll look to take back what the books took from us today 😉

I have to say — I was very surprised by today’s Pick of the Day result. The Montreal Canadiens getting shut out was definitely not on my betting bingo card.

I was also shocked watching Chicago let the Charlotte Hornets absolutely stomp them at home. The Bulls didn’t even crack 100 points!

And lastly… tonight’s NFL game. Nearly three hours in front of the TV, and the 49ers managed to put up three points?! That’s literally one point per hour of football! I’m glad the Seahawks pulled out a win, but wow — I think we can all agree that game tested our ability to keep both eyes open 🥱

Alright everyone, that’s all for now. Let’s walk this day off, get some sleep, and regroup. As always, I’ll see you bright and early to conquer the books 👊🏽

X
Belle

Jan 3, 2026: Belle's Picks, Player Props & Parlays (Premium) 🏒🏀🏈

January 5, 2026

Today's Picks

-BUF Sabres ML (-110) | 0.25 Units

-MTL Canadiens v STL Blues Over 6.0 (-115) | 0.5 Units

-SEA Seahawks v SF 49ers Over 47.5 (-110) | 0.25 Units

-CHA Hornets v CHI Bulls Over 239.0 (-110) | 0.25 Units

Why These Picks?

BUF Sabres v CLB Blue Jackets: This is a great price for a team that’s won their last 10 straight games. Buffalo would have to have a pretty bad day here to take a loss to Columbus in my opinion. The Sabres have yet to confirm their goalie, but I imagine Luukkonen (2.46 GAA) will get the start. Until Buffalo stops making me money, I’ll ride this ticket until it stops cashing. I’m on the Sabres to bag another win.

MTL Canadiens v STL Blues: The Over has cashed in 5 of Montreal’s last 6 outings, while St. Louis’ last 3 straight have seen at least 6 goals. Neither side has confirmed their goaltender at the time of writing, but it’s very likely Jordan Binnington (3.56 GAA) who’s been rough lately, and 3 of Joel Hofer’s last 4 outings have seen a higher total. Regardless of who ends up in net here, I’d take the Over to hit, friends.

SEA Seahawks v SF 49ers: There’s some great defense on the field between these two teams, but I don’t think it’ll stop either side from pushing this total to at least 48. Both squads have explosive offenses that are tough to keep at bay; the 49ers have cashed the Over in spades in each of their last 3 straight contests, and while Seattle has played some low-scoring games over the past month, I have a feeling this encounter will feel a lot like their 70+ point matchup with Los Angeles. My money’s on the Over today.

CHA Hornets v CHI Bulls: If sports book thinks this game is going to fall within a single basket, I don’t doubt a high-scoring affair. Neither of these teams plays solid defense, and both Charlotte & Chicago have put 120+ points on the board in each of their last 2 games. I’ll take the Over to cash.
