I wanted to take a quick moment to talk about Pick of the Day. As you probably noticed, I didn’t send one out today. Truth is, MLB has been especially volatile lately, and rather than force a play I didn’t feel confident in, I decided to hold back.

‍

That said, I’ll be honest — it felt strange not sending one out. Pick of the Day has been part of my daily ritual for almost two years now. It’s something I genuinely enjoy sharing, and even with the occasional slump/cold streak, it’s a feature that always finds its footing over time. More than that, it’s the thing that brings our whole community together — from the free tier to the paid tiers — every single day. 👊🏽

The bigger picture is important: over the course of the year, POTD consistently finishes profitable. That’s the reason I stick with it, and I'm sure the reason why so many of you ride it with me through both hot streaks and cold spells.

I know, this post is going out obscenely late🌙🦉! In fact, it's probably into the early hours for my EST friends – but I wanted to touch base anyway. Today was a rough betting day, fam. No sugarcoating it, most of today’s picks just didn’t go our way, and Pick of the Day has been in a rough slump lately. I know it’s never fun riding through these stretches, but every long-time subscriber knows we always bounce back 😌👊🏽 

Between now and the start of NFL, I’ll also be tweaking how I structure things for the free tier. You’ll still get solid value every day (prepare to be dazzled!) but I’m going to use this time to test a slightly different format that I think will keep my "freemium" tier profitable as we approach football season. 

That said – how on EARTH did the Detroit Tigers only score 4 runs off a man (Bailey Ober) who's allowed 37 hits over his last 5 games?! 🤯

This is the tough part about a 'Pick of the Day' slump, friends. I look back on the pick, and I still love the read. I didn't hate the logic before the game started, and to be frank, I don't disagree with it post-game either. 

Sometimes, the math just doesn't math. That said, I look forward to reinstating one of our legendary hot streaks 😉 Overall, picks and parlays are doing well for the month of August – I'll be bringing our spreadsheets up to date this weekend so you can all see where we're at!

I'd say tonight's "nightcap" is necessary, friends. Baseball was brutal – so much so that I'm thrilled that I sent NFL Pre-Season picks out this afternoon 😂 "Belle's NFL Pre-Season Potpourri 💐" did far better than today's MLB picks! For those that tailed, a big congrats to you.

Speaking of 'Pick of the Day' – I've fully updated July 2025's Pick of the Day spreadsheet results. Comically, as rough of a run as POTD seemed to have there...it still came out of last month basically even 🤣 It really did feel worse than it actually was; overall, Pick of the Day is still "green" for the year to date.

That said, there were some highlights. The Toronto Blue Jays absolutely crushed it (again!) I’ll be honest – I wish there was a TOR Blue Jays v COL Rockies game every day at Coors Field, ha ha! That series was an absolute cash cow for us 💰🐮

Player Props friends, Jung Hoo Lee of the SF Giants also came through for us with 2 bases for a nice +145 return! I’m a little choked – two of today’s player props got voided because they were ruled out (…right as the Blue Jays game started). Toronto decided they didn’t like lefties today ;)

For those in my Discord who decided to runback my “Blue Jays Home Run Bingo” parlay after yesterday’s nearly hit, I’m happy to report that today’s did hit! To summarize: We made a fortune! I have to say, that Phillies game was weird as hell 😅 I thought for sure we were going to get the sweep, but alas – new Detroit Tigers starter Charlie Morton (formerly with the Baltimore Orioles) pitched his heart out.
