Why These Picks?

MIL Brewers v TEX Rangers: This pick is real simple – I just don't think the Brewers get swept! Especially not with Freddy Peralta (2.50 ERA) on the mound. Peralta hasn't allowed a single run in any of his last 5 starts, so as long as the bullpen doesn't do their team dirty, Milwaukee should pick up a win here.

DET Tigers v NY Yankees: Jack Flaherty (4.85) might be the least reliable member of the Detroit starting lineup (sorry bud…). Flaherty has allowed 13 runs on 20 hits across his last 3 starts – the Yankees should have little issue scoring here. With Carlos Rodon (3.12 ERA) on the mound, I can’t think of a better opportunity for the home team to bounce back. A fun fact for those of you looking to make multiple picks on this game: Rodon’s last 5 starts have seen the Over cash, the Yankees score at least 7 and win by at least 4 runs. That said, I’ll toss my larger wager for this evening on the Yankees to put at least 5 in the bag, and a sprinkle on them to cover the RL.

TB Rays v CHI White Sox: It’s looking like both of these squads are rolling with a bullpen game, friends. For this reason alone, I expect this encounter to be a shoot out – but in addition, the White Sox have cashed the Over in 6 of their last 8 outings, and the White Sox offense has been cashing slips left, right and centre over the last 10 days. To be frank, I almost always expect Chicago’s opponent (whoever they might be…) to put at least 4 on the board – today I think the White Sox match at least that. Give me the Over to hit for plus money.
