Why These Picks?

CHA Hornets v POR Trail Blazers: The Trail Blazers tend to rack up much bigger totals when they’re at home – their last 8 straight home games have seen final totals of more than 230. The Hornets offense has proven that they’re more than capable of putting points on the board, and if Portland can keep it close the way the books think they might, this encounter should easily fall north of 228. I’m on the Over to cash, and on the Hornets to cover.

MIN Timberwolves v LA Lakers: The Lakers have won their last 2 meetings with the Timberwolves outright, and they undoubtedly play their best basketball at home. After watching Minnesota get stomped by the Orlando Magic a few days ago (on their own court…) I like LA’s chances tonight. At the very least, I think the Lakers keep it close. My money’s on the home team to cover.

UTA Mammoth v MIN Wild: I love the Wild in this spot. Utah is on a back-to-back this evening and they’re fresh off of losing to the Chicago Blackhawks in OT. The Mammoth had been solid on their road trip up until that game, but I think they’ll endure a second loss here. Minnesota has taken down some tough teams over the last month, and tonight they’ll be both rested and at home. I’m on the Wild to win in regulation.

🐶 CHI Bulls v GS Warriors: The Warriors have their best players on the IL, and tonight they’ll be on a back-to-back after taking a loss to the Jazz. Chicago has been rough all season, but this might be a solid spot for them to pull off the upset, especially if Josh Giddey is cleared to play. A spread of +6.0 doesn’t really convince me that Golden State has this one in the bag (especially at home!) I’ll toss a sprinkle on the Bulls to pull off a win.
