Why These Picks?

LA Lakers v BKN Nets: Fading the Nets has yielded nothing but profit over the last few weeks, friends – we might as well ride the gravy train until it stops cashing. I don’t love the Lakers at the moment, but they’re playing far better basketball than Brooklyn. LA has won 3 of their last 5 games while the Nets have dropped 8 of their last 10 (most recently taking a loss by 50+ to the Detroit Pistons). I’m on the Lakers to bag a win and cover on the road this evening.

UTA Jazz v IND Pacers: I won’t even sugarcoat this – the Pacers have had a terrible season and are on a back-to-back here, but they have the home advantage against another team that’s been simply abysmal. The Jazz have lost their last 6 straight games by at least 7 points, and Indiana has picked up some solid wins over their last 5 games (including a victory over the OKC Thunder). In addition, the Pacers have covered the spread in each of their wins this season. I’ll risk it for the biscuit and take home squad to win by at least 4 this evening.

CLB Blue Jackets v NJ Devils: The Blue Jackets are on an absolute tear having won 9 of their last 10 games (wth?!). In addition, they’ve cashed the Over in their last 4 straight outings. Despite the Devils having a great record against Columbus (they’ve won 4 of their last 5 meetings…) the Blue Jackets are in much better form at the moment. I’ll take the Over to cash and the visitors to bag a win.
