Why This Pick?
STL Cardinals v BAL Orioles: I admit, Cade Povich (4.86 ERA) has a few nice starts under his belt. That said, do I trust him as a reliable arm on a regular basis? Absolutely not. Povich's ERA is still hovering just under 5, and once the Baltimore bullpen comes in, I think this game is going to turn into a slugfest. To boot, I honestly can't remember the last time the Orioles won a game as the favoured team (lol). I'm on the Over to hit and on the Cardinals to pull off a victory here.
MIN Twins v TB Rays: Both of today's pitchers are wildly capable. Twins starter Pablo Lopez has an ERA of 2.31 with over 54 strikeouts under his belt, and fares even better on the road with an Away ERA of 1.55. On the other side, Rays starter Drew Rasmussen carries an admirable 2.34 ERA overall (his Home ERA sits at 2.50). I'm on the Under to cash, betting fam.
The Athletics v HOU Astros: This game should fly over 8 runs, friends. The Astros offense was firing on all cylinders against the Athletics yesterday – and while I don't think Severino (4.11 ERA) will slow them down a whole ton, I do think the Athletics will bag more than a few off of McCullers (6.57 ERA) this afternoon. I'll take the Over to hit.
WAS Nationals v SEA Mariners: I’ll be frank: I don’t love either pitcher on the mound today. Mariners starter George Kirby (12.27 ERA) had a rough season debut, and the Nationals are rolling with Trevor Williams this evening who’s boasting an ERA of 6.39. The reason for this pick? I know the Nationals haven’t scored more than 6 runs over their last 4 outings, but something tells me they’ll be able to put more than a few on the board against Kirby. In addition, the Seattle offense is wide awake, and should have no issue bagging runs with Williams on the mound. I say both teams contribute to this total and the Over cashes.
