Why These Picks?
PHI Phillies v MIL Brewers: The Milwaukee offense is far more reliable than Philly’s in my opinion. In addition, Freddy Peralta (2.58 ERA) has only allowed 1 run across his last 5 outings, while we’ve seen Phillies starter Ranger Suarez (3.02 ERA) melt down in 2 of his last 5 trips to the mound. My money’s on the Brewers to take the Series.
LA Dodgers v PIT Pirates: Four of Paul Skenes’ (2.05 ERA) last 5 starts have seen 7 runs or less, friends. Watching the Dodgers get shutout by a lesser pitcher yesterday, the lean today is definitely a low-scoring affair. Add on to that the fact that Blake Snell (2.41 ERA) is pitching for the visitors today? I say the Under hits here.
DAL Cowboys v PHI Eagles: I fully expect this Cowboys/Eagles matchup to go a lot like the two last year. Dallas played Philly twice in 2024, and lost both games by at least 28 points. I can’t imagine that the Cowboys offense has gotten 4 touchdowns better in the off-season, and we all know the defense is missing some key pieces (Dallas misses you already, Micah…) With Jalen Hurts having a healthy selection of fire power in the Eagles offense at his disposal, I’m on the Birds to cover the spread and on the Under to cash.
