Why These Picks?
KC Royals v LA Angels: Today’s starters have a collective ERA of over 15.00. That said, LA starter Sam Aldegheri hasn’t pitched more than 4 innings this year, and the Royals still have something to play for (though, their chances of snagging a Wild Card spot are minimal...) I’ll happily take the Over and the Royals to bag a win by multiple runs.
MIL Brewers v SD Padres: I don’t love Padres starter Randy Vasquez (3.94 ERA), but I definitely think he’ll be the better arm in today’s matchup. The Brewers are starting Bruce Zimmerman this evening, who hasn’t played in the Major League since 2023. San Diego plays a good game at home, they have the better bullpen, and have won 3 of their last 4 encounters with Milwaukee (when I looked back, this surprised me, to be honest…) At this stage in the season, I think the Padres will be more eager to lock down an additional victory as they fight to win their division. My money’s on the home squad tonight, and on the Over to cash, friends.
