Why These Picks?

ATL Hawks v ORL Magic: After watching the Hawks take a rough loss to the Toronto Raptors, backing the Magic isn’t just an option, it’s the only option. I’ve liked Orlando’s defense for a while now, and their offense only seems to be getting better (particularly with the addition of Desmond Bane). I imagine both of these things will bode well for them at home. My money’s on the Magic to cover.

TOR Maple Leafs v BUF Sabres: I like the Over here for one simple reason, and it’s that I expect both squads to put at least 3 goals on the board. With the Sabres having scored 17 goals over their last 4 games and being surprisingly decent on a Power Play, I wouldn’t be surprised if they managed to pull off an upset at home. On the other side, Toronto goalie Anthony Stolarz has lost 4 of his last 6 starts; I don’t think Buffalo will have an issue keeping up with their offense today. Take the Over to hit and the Sabres to upset.

UTA Jazz v SAC Kings: The data surrounding these two teams is pretty clear, friends. The Jazz have not fared well against the Kings – in fact they lost all 4 meetings with them last season, and 4 of their last 5 losses to Sacramento were by double digits. I’m undoubtedly on the home team to cover the spread today.
