Why These Picks?

IND Pacers v MIL Bucks: I actually couldn’t remember the last time the Pacers covered (…this is not a joke), but a quick peek at their schedule shows they’ve covered once in their last 12 games and have lost all 12. Even with Giannis on the sidelines, Milwaukee should pull off a healthy victory at home. I’ll be shocked if Indiana cracks 100 points. I’m on the Bucks to cover and on the Under to cash.

UTA Jazz v SAC Kings: While I’m not in a rush to back either of these squads, the Jazz have won their last 2 meetings with Sacramento SU, and have covered the spread in their last 3. Both teams have plenty of injuries, but do have a vested interest in snagging that #1 draft pick. I think it’s very plausible that Utah pulls off the upset here; they won their last encounter with the Kings by nearly 30 points. And, despite taking a number of losses (to some pretty tough opponents…), they continue to put points on the board. Give me the Jazz to cover this evening.

TO Maple Leafs v MIN Wild: Both of these teams are on a back-to-back, but the Wild are easily the better squad; tonight, they have the home advantage. Toronto has lost 9 of their last 10 outings, and it’s looking like Stolarz will get the start. Minnesota should bag a win by multiple goals here. Take the Wild to cover the PL and the Over to hit.

🐶 ANA Ducks v MTL Canadiens: The Ducks have won their last two meetings with Montreal. Granted, both of those games were in Anaheim, but the Canadiens are on a back-to-back here and coming off a loss on their own ice to the SJ Sharks. While the Ducks are also on a back-to-back, they’re a tougher beat than the Sharks in my opinion. I’ll toss a sprinkle on Anaheim to pull off the upset.
