Why These Picks?

LA Kings v WIN Jets: I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the Jets are currently the worst team in the NHL. And, not only has Winnipeg lost 4 of their last 5 meetings with Los Angeles, but they’ll also be playing this encounter on the tail end of a back-to-back. Having gone 11 straight games without a win (oof…) I just can’t bring myself to put money on the Jets in their current from. Now to be fair, Los Angeles hasn’t been anything to write home about either, but they’ve won 2 of their last 3 games – both victories being over the very capable Minnesota Wild. Give me the Kings to bag a win in regulation on the road for a nice return.

TOR Raptors v BOS Celtics: 3 of the last 4 meetings between these two squads have fallen Under 223, friends. To boot, all 3 of Boston’s last home games have yielded lower totals (surprisingly), and the Raptors have held their opponents to 106 points or less in 4 of their last 5 games. I’ll toss a sprinkle on the Under to cash here.

ATL Hawks v DEN Nuggets: With Trae Young out of the picture, I imagine the Hawks will resume playing like an actual basketball team (lol). It makes no sense, but somehow they play way better without Young on the court. I’m not saying Atlanta will bag a win here, but I do think they’ll put enough points on the board to cash the Over. The last 5 meetings between these two teams have gone well beyond 235. My money’s on this game to fall North of 234.5.
