Why These Picks?

BKN Nets v BOS Celtics: The Celtics have played some shockingly low-scoring games with the Nets, but their most recent encounter found itself in OT and at a whopping 256 points. While I don’t expect the total to go that high with Brooklyn on the road, the Nets have allowed at least 115 points in their last 3 outings. Bottom line? Boston’s offense should fare well enough at home to get at least that past Brooklyn’s lukewarm defense. I’m on the Celtics to put at least 114 in the bag this evening.

NY Knicks v MIL Bucks: I’m not in a rush to back the Bucks, but I do think they’ll manage to keep a close-ish game this evening. Milwaukee has pulled off some solid wins over the last couple of games at home (over Cleveland & Miami…), and while I’m not totally sold on the idea that they deliver an upset this evening, I do think they’ll cover the spread given how NY has been playing on the road. Take the home team to keep this encounter within 8.

WIN Jets v ANA Ducks: 6 of Anaheim’s last 7 games have seen at least 6 goals, friends. Even with Connor Hellebuyck bring the likely goal tender this evening, I think the Jets will get more than a few past Lukas Dostal. The Ducks have also been surprisingly solid offensively having won 8 of their last 10 games, and having scored 14 goals in just their last 3 outings. For all of these reasons, my money’s on the Over to hit tonight.
