Why These Picks?

LA Clippers v HOU Rockets: I admit – If the Rockets are playing at home, it’s tough for me to see anything else on the board. The Clippers have been nothing short of a tragedy this season and have lost 7 of their last 8 games, while Houston has only lost 6 games all season. In addition, the Rockets have won their last two home games by double digits, and 7 of their last 9 home encounters SU. My money’s on Houston to cover. As for a total, between LA’s struggles offensively and Houston’s elite defense, I say this total falls well under 222.5.

ATL Falcons v TB Buccaneers: This is one of my all-time favourite high-scoring matchups, friends. I’m hopeful that this encounter will be just like old times – Kirk Cousins at the helm throwing for 500+ yards (okay, maybe not 500…) and Baker Mayfield finding his stride again as these two QBs battle it out in a showdown that likely finds itself in OT. But I digress; Tampa’s defense certainly isn’t crushing it at the moment, and the Falcons have allowed 64 points over just their last 2 outings. I’m on the Over to cash.
