Why These Picks?

CHI White Sox v KC Royals: This is a nice spot for the Royals to pick up a win. Starter Michael Wacha is undoubtedly the stronger arm (the man has been fire in both of his starts so far this season…) and I think the KC offense can get to Erick Fedde early. With the White Sox being just 2-6 on the road, I’ll roll with the home team to cover the RL this afternoon.

CLB Blue Jackets v MTL Canadiens: The Blue Jackets have been on a brutal run. Having lost 8 of their last 10 outings, I’m not in a rush to put money on them. Meanwhile, the Canadiens have won 9 of their last 10 and come into this matchup with the home advantage. I know the Blue Jackets are desperate at this point, but having scored just 5 goals across their last 4 games, I can’t see them contending with Montreal in their current form. I’m on the Canadiens to win in regulation.

VAN Canucks v SJ Sharks: Assuming goaltenders Tolopilo and Askarov get the start, this game should have no issue seeing 7 goals. These two squads cashed the Over in each of their last two meetings – Vancouver’s downward spiral seems to be never ending, and the Sharks have allowed 11 goals over their last two games. Expect both teams to put at least 3 goals in the bag, as neither company can play solid defense. I’m on the Over to cash, friends.
