Why These Picks?
HOU Texans v SEA Seahawks: All of the Seahawks’ wins so far this season have been by at least a FG, friends. On the other side, Houston has only looked good against teams facing incredible adversity – they beat the Baltimore Ravens sans Lamar Jackson, and the notoriously struggling Tennessee Titans. To boot, Seattle will have the home advantage today. The reality is that the Texans haven’t shown us anything so far this season that makes me think we should trust them, let alone throw money behind them. I’ll take the squad that’s won 4 of their last 6 outings cover.
WIN Jets v CAL Flames: I know the Flames are at home, but the Jets have won 3 of their last 4 meetings with them by multiple goals. In addition, the Jets have only lost once so far this season and it was against the formidable Dallas Stars – all of their victories have been won in regulation. I’ll take Winnipeg to bag a win without the need for OT today.
SEA Kraken v PHI Flyers: Seattle has pulled off some great upsets over the last week – one against the Toronto Maple Leafs (in Toronto) and another against the Las Vegas Golden Knights. And, let’s be honest, both of those teams are far better than the Flyers. I’ll happily throw down on the Kraken to pull off the upset in Philly.
