Why These Picks?

NY Knicks v DET Pistons: The Pistons played an ugly game against the Washington Wizards just yesterday, friends – I’m not in a rush to back them against the Knicks. Admittedly, I’m not typically a fan of New York when they’re on the road, but they’ve won their last 8 straight games and Detroit is on a back-to-back here. For all of these reasons the line strikes me as a bit odd, but I’ll bite. I’m on the visitors to bag a win.

Update: Karl-Anthony Towns got ruled "doubtful" moments after I posted this – Knicks ML now at +135, Knicks +3.5 is priced at -115. If you haven't locked in yet, I'd split your wager between the ML & the +3.5.

MIA Heat v BOS Celtics: This game should pass 230. Miami has cashed the Over in their last 5 straight outings, and while Boston has been trending towards lower totals, both of their meetings with the Heat this season have gone beyond 230. My money’s on the Over to cash.

NO Pelicans v MIN Timberwolves: The Pelicans have only scored more than 114 points in 1 of their last 5 outings, and they needed OT to do it. Unless you think New Orleans might drag this encounter past regulation, I’d throw a sprinkle on them to put fewer than 114 on the board again.
