Why These Picks?
MIA Heat v WAS Wizards: The Heat have bagged at least 132 points in all 3 of their meetings with the Wizards this season. Despite both squads being on a back-to-back here, Washington’s defense is basically non-existent. With Miami managing 152 against the Wizards in their last encounter, 131.5 feels like a steal of a deal. Despite the Heat having a rough couple of weeks, I think they’ll take advantage of this opportunity to turn up offensively. I’ll roll with the Heat to put at least 132 in the bag again.
DET Pistons v CHA Hornets: I like both of these defenses far too much to entertain a high-scoring affair. The Under has cashed in their last 4 straight meetings – and to be frank, Detroit doesn’t have much to play for at this point; I can’t imagine they push their starting 5 any harder than they have to. To be frank, I’m surprised Detroit has Cade Cunningham in the lineup this evening; but I’ll bite. I’m on the Under to hit.
TOR Raptors v NY Knicks: Both teams on a back-to-back, I know; but I love the Knicks at home. New York has won and covered a spread of -5.5 in their last 5 straight meetings with Toronto, and only one of those 5 games managed to make it over 219.5 points.
