Why These Picks?
KC Chiefs v JAX Jaguars: I know the Jaguars are at home, but they’ve lost their last 5 straight encounters with Kansas City by at least a TD. Granted, Jacksonville has looked great so far this season at 3-1, but their schedule has been pretty lax with victories over teams like the Carolina Panthers and the Houston Texans (I will, however, give them their flowers for taking down the 49ers last week…) That said, after watching the Kansas City Chiefs pick up a win over the Baltimore Ravens by more than two TDs, I just can’t see Jacksonville keeping this one within 3. It might not be the prettiest victory, but I’m on Patrick Mahomes & company to cover the spread here.
CHI Cubs v MIL Brewers: This is a bold pick, friends – but hear me out. Great as Shota Imanaga can be, 4 of his last 5 outings have resulted in a loss for the Cubs…and every single one of those losses was by at least 2 runs. If you think the Cubs win here, feel free to fade me. But if you think the Brewers win, I’d grab the RL for a better pay day. I know Milwaukee is (kind of?) rolling with their BP today, but 4 of Aaron Ashby’s last starts have all resulted in a Brewers victory. And, if I'm being real honest – the home advantage is just a little too big for an offense like Milwaukee. I’m on the home squad to win by multiple runs.
