Why These Picks?

CAL Flames v UTA Mammoth: The Flames have lost all 3 of their last encounters with Utah by at least 2 goals. The Mammoth also have a number of advantages in today’s meeting – including (but certainly not limited to…) the fact that they’re at home and Calgary will be playing on a back to back. Having not scored more than 2 goals per game in their last 3 straight outings (and losing those same 3 by at least 2…), I think it’d be tough for the Flames to snag a win here. My money’s on the Mammoth to cover the PL.

CHI Blackhawks v STL Blues: With the Blues coming off of two solid road wins, I like their chances at home on a day of rest against the Blackhawks. While I do think Chicago manages to pull off some sneaky wins on their own ice, they’ve lost both of their road games so far this season, and they’ve lost their last 5 straight encounters with St. Louis (4 of which were losses by at least 2 goals). Give me the Blues to cover the PL and the Under to cash.
