Why These Picks?

BOS Red Sox v LA Angels: Friends, Tyler Anderson (4.56 ERA) has been straight up AWFUL lately. It pains me to say it, because last year he was great! I don’t know what happened, but 2025 is just not his time. Anderson has allowed 10 runs in his last 2 outings; meanwhile, the Red Sox will start their resident Ace, Garrett Crochet (2.20 ERA). Despite LA’s solid performance yesterday, my money is wholly on Boston if Anderson is on the mound. Take the Red Sox to cover the RL here.

PIT Pirates v MIL Brewers: The Brewers narrowly missed this milestone yesterday, but with Andrew Heaney on the mound for the Pirates this evening, I think they’ll cash it early on. Milwaukee has a substantial advantage with Freddy Peralta (2.76 ERA) on the mound, I actually wouldn’t be surprised if the Brewers cashed the game total all by themselves here. Conservatively, my money is on Milwaukee to put at least 5 on the board.

The Athletics v DET Tigers: I can’t get on board with The Athletics or starter Luis Severino (4.42 ERA), betting fam. 4 of Severino’s last 5 outings have seen opponents put at least 5 runs on the board – and the Tigers boast some serious fire power. Take Detroit to clear the team total (with what I imagine will be relative ease) tonight.

SEA Mariners v MIN Twins: I’ll continue fading the Twins until they show some signs of life. To boot, Minnesota starter Chris Paddack (4.48 ERA) has allowed 12 ERs in just his last two starts. Luis Castillo (3.38 ERA) isn’t my favourite Seattle starter, but I think he’ll keep the Twins in check enough to secure another victory. Take the Mariners to win and the Over to hit.
