Why These Picks?

MIA Heat v ATL Hawks: There was a time when I loved this matchup to cash the Over – but Miami hasn’t been crushing points like they were earlier this season. The Heat have lost 8 of their last 10 outings, and they’ve only put more than 116 points on the board once in their last 9 games. That said, despite losing their last 4 straight, Atlanta has put at least 120 points on the board in 4 of their last 5 outings – no doubt they’re the reason for the astronomical total line. Back in October, these two met and needed OT just to reach the high-230s. In fact, none of the last 10 meetings between these two squads have touched 248. Give me the Under.

PHI 76ers v CHI Bulls: The 76ers have lost their last 3 straight meetings with Chicago, and the Bulls seem to be on quite the tear right now having won 5 of their last 6 games. Chicago has had little issue scoring this past week, having put at least 126 points in the bag in each of their last 4 outings. At the time of writing, the 76ers have a number of ‘Questionable’ key players on the IL (give that list a look before game time…) but I like the Bulls to pull off the cover here, and I won’t be surprised if they win outright. My money’s on the home team, friends.

TOR Raptors v WAS Wizards: Hear me out – the Wizards are terrible, but they tend to put a respectable number of points on the board when they play at home. Washington’s last 7 straight home games have seen more than 225 points, and while I know Toronto hasn’t exactly been crushing points lately, the Wizards’ defense leaves plenty to be desired. A bold pick, I know, but I like the Over to cash here.
