Why These Picks?

‍

COL Avalanche v SEA Kraken: The Avalanche have won 4 of their last 5 games against the Kraken, and 3 of those 4 victories were by at least 2. While Colorado hasn’t been great at covering the PL on the road lately, Seattle’s struggles should bode extremely well for the Avalanche offense. The Kraken have lost 8 of their last 9 outings, and 7 of those losses have been by multiple goals. At the time of writing, neither team has confirmed their goalie, but it’s looking like the Avs will start MacKenzie Blackwood who is a formidable 9-1-1. I’ll take the Avs to win by at least 2.

‍

ANA Ducks v CLB Blue Jackets: The Ducks are playing this one on a back-to-back, but their offense has been shockingly solid this season. On the other side, Blue Jackets goaltender Jet Greaves (2.75 GAA) has allowed 13 goals in just their last 3 outings (dude is having a rough go…). I know Columbus’ offense has been struggling lately, but they’ve always been more of a force at home. I think this game ends with at least 7 goals – especially if Ville Husso gets the start for Anaheim. My money’s on the Over to cash here.

‍

EDM Oilers v PIT Penguins: This should be a fun one considering that each squad has the other’s former goaltender in net tonight. That said, the Oilers and the Penguins are both averaging more than 3 goals per game at the moment, and 4 of the last 5 meetings have seen a final total of at least 6. My money’s on the Over to hit.

‍

SA Spurs v NY Knicks: Championship game, friends! Not only do I expect this to be a wildly intense battle of defenses, but 4 of the last 5 meetings between these two squads have fallen below 234 (in much more casual circumstances, might I add...). Take the Under here, friends.
