MIN Vikings v LA Chargers: I’ve gotta go with a high-scoring affair here. The Vikings have seen final scores of over 45 points in 3 of their last 4 outings, while the Chargers have cashed the Over in back-to-back games and should be eager to prove themselves after barely edging out the Dolphins. In addition, Minnesota managed to get 22 points past the Eagles last week – I think they’ll do at least that against LA’s struggling defense. I expect both teams to put at least 20 & change on the board here. It’s also tough for me to believe that the Vikings won’t cover here – the Chargers have lost 3 of their lsat 5 games, and the two wins they managed to secure were both by no more than a field goal. My money’s on the Over to cash, and I’ll toss a sprinkle on Minnesota to cover as well.

UTA Mammoth v STL Blues: After watching Joel Hofer (5.01 GAA) get absolutely smoked by the Chicago Blackhawks, I added him to my fade list. This is a great price for a team that clearly has the goaltending edge, and the Blues are just 1-3 at home so far this season. Lastly, both of Hofer’s two starts this season have seen at least 6 goals. Give me Utah to win and the Over to hit.

I admit, it’s tempting to think both teams might get off to a slow start, or that the team with the league’s best defensive rating might bode well for a low-scoring affair, but that notoriously just hasn’t been the case when the Thunder faces the Rockets. My money’s on the Over to cash this evening.

SJ Sharks v NY Islanders: The Sharks are desperate for a win, but I don’t think they’re going to find it on the road. In addition, San Jose’s goaltending has been abysmal; tonight they’ll start Yaroslav Askarov (6.47 GAA). While I’m not the biggest fan of Islanders Ilya Sorokin (4.13 GAA), I think he’ll do enough to give NY a win by at least 2. Take the Islanders to cover the PL.

COL Avalanche v UTA Mammoth: I’ll be frank – the Mammoth have just been too terrible on a Power Play for me to think they’ll have an edge of any kind over the Avalanche.
