MEM Grizzlies v CLE Cavaliers: I love this pick simply because of how tragic Memphis has been overall, but particularly on the road. The Grizzlies have lost 4 of their 5 Away games, and every single one of their road losses has been by at least 13 points. The Cavaliers have won their last 5 straight meetings with Memphis, and unfortunately, the Grizzlies’ offense has taken a turn for the worse over the last 2 years (seriously, what happened?!) To boot, Memphis has yet to cover the spread as an underdog this season. For all of these reasons, I’m on the Cleveland to cover at home, friends.

OKC Thunder v CHA Hornets: So long as the Hornets put at least 100 points on the board here, this Over should cash – because I don’t doubt that OKC will put at least 125 up playing the way they have been. So far this season, the Hornets have come to the table with a minimum of 105 points in each game, and while they’ve definitely struggled, 4 of their last 5 outings have seen a final total of at least 228 points. With the Over having cashed in 4 of the last 5 meetings between these two squads, my money’s on a higher scoring affair today – but also on the Thunder to cover that diabolical double-digit spread.

PHI Flyers v DAL Stars: This is a bold pick, I know – but I don’t love Philly on a back-to-back. In addition, they’ll be on the road today up against a Stars squad that’s looking for their 5th straight win. After watching Dallas shutout the Canadiens 7-0 in Montreal, it’s tough for me to think they won’t take down the Flyers by more than 1 goal – especially since they’re rested on their own ice. I’m going for the plus money today, everyone – take Dallas to cover the PL.

Portland has only had one loss by more than 7 points so far this season, but with the home advantage and a relatively healthy roster, I think covering -7.5 is very reasonable against a Trail Blazers squad that’s missing some key components. To boot, Portland has lost 6 of their last 7 meetings with Houston by a sizeable chunk of points. I’m on the Rockets to cover tonight, friends.

BKN Nets v ORL Magic: Both of these teams are missing too much fire power for me to think this total even touches 200, let alone 223.0! Paolo Banchero is undoubtedly any/all of the reason I’d think the Magic can cover a spread of -13.5, and he’s been ruled out for this evening. On the other side, the Nets are without Cam Thomas. Hell, even with a healthy squad, the Nets haven’t cracked more than 112 points in their last 5 straight outings.  I’m on the Under to cash in spades here.

MIA Heat v NY Knicks: With the Knicks having bagged at least 130 points in 3 of their last 4 outings, and Miami cashing the Over in their last 4 straight games, I imagine this encounter sees at least 240. I know Jalen Brunson is out, but there’s plenty of fire power available to score in his place. In addition, gone are the days of the Heat’s slow-paced tendencies (remember when?!) That said, with Bam Adebayo still out, I do think the Knicks step up and cover at home. I’m on both the Over to cash as well as on the home squad to win by at least 6.

Once again, I can’t believe Pick of the Day was the only miss the Picks lineup had. Overall, we finished profitable, but I might need to rethink how I structure the free post — I’ll spin on that idea and get back to you ☺️☕️

NY Jets v NE Patriots: The Jets have had a tragic season, no doubt — but they’ve quietly won two straight and put 20+ points on the board in both outings. New England’s defense has been solid overall, but their last seven consecutive games have all seen at least 43 points. I expect the home squad’s offense to cut through their visitors like a hot knife through already half-melted butter. Take Over 43.0 to cash.

ANA Ducks v DET Red Wings: Ducks goaltender Peter Mrazek (4.56 GAA) has only had 3 starts this season, and all 3 have have been high-scoring affairs. While the Red Wings have had some issues scoring over their last few games, I imagine this problem will be alleviated by Mrazek in net. To boot, Anaheim has had no problem putting goals in the bag. EDM Oilers v CLB Blue Jackets: The Blue Jackets have a substantial advantage in goaltending this evening. I don’t love the way Columbus has been playing on the road, but I do think their offense will fare well against Pickard, especially since they were able to bag a victory over the Oilers with Skinner in net just a few days back. On the other side, Edmonton managed 5 goals on Jet Greaves in that last meeting; I imagine this evening will see no shortage of scoring. I’m on the Over to cash, and on the Blue Jackets to snag a win.
